The second half belonged to Kirby who came out of the blocks flying and had most of the play - putting Barwell under pressure, but couldn't make it pay off. Studley 0-3 Kirby
5th december 2009
Kirby won on the road again, this time at Studley who were team of the month for November.
Kirby started off a bit slow out of the blocks, but Studley appeared to sit back too and on a heavy pitch the game struggled to gain life.
Studley's tall striker was causing problems for the Kirby defence and backed up by the Studley right winger it looked as if the home side might get the advantage.
Chances went for both sides and there was a match changing incident on the half hour mark when a Studley player was sent off for violent conduct. Although playing against 10 men, Kirby still didn't quite settle. Studley had another blow towards the end of the first half when their problematic striker was carried off with injury. Kirby's first goal came from a corner when Mason fired in a low shot.
New signing Ronie White came off the bench to open his account as he broke through and slotted the ball into the onion bag past the Studley keeper. White could have had a couple more but for the Studley stopper. Mason finished the game off with a tap in from a yard on the 90th minute.

Although down to 10 men, Coventry came back with a scrambled goal on 48 minutes and followed it up 10 minutes later with a lucky shot finding the net through keeper Wilcox's hands. Kirby had most of the play and got the equaliser with 9 minutes to go as the ball found Danny Taylor in the box to slot it home.
An ill tempered game which Kirby should have won but due to some bizarre and puzzling decisions from the officials which only added to the fire due to lack of control.

Alvechurch 4-6 Kirby
31st October 2009
Jamie Mason fired home four goals as Kirby won 6-4 away at third place Alvechurch. The scoring started in the 3rd minute when a Danny Taylor shot was deflected into the Alvechurch net by a defender to shock the favourites. Alvechurch were awarded a baffling penalty on the 11th minute which was despatched to level the score. The first of Mason’s goals came in the 17th minute as he got through the weak Alvechurch defence to slam the ball in from a narrow angle, again, the score was levelled as 10 men Alvechurch scored in the 38th minute but Mason hit back with his trade-mark lob from 30 yards to put Kirby in the lead at the break.
Mason got his third of the match with another lob over the Alvechurch keeper on the 48th minute to extend Kirby’s lead and his last of the day came from a well worked move for a tap-in at the far post before being substituted off to loud round of applause. Stu Verrall got himself on the score sheet with 10 minutes to go as he deceived the Alvechurch keeper with another lob over the top to make it 6-2. Alvechurch had another player sent off before the end and at this point it appeared Kirby have switched off and let two more goals through – one of which was another soft penalty.
Overall, Kirby played well and capitalised on the Alvechurch defence who appeared at sea in patches and also quietened the Alvechurch stand who cheered every wrong pass from Kirby...they had to cheer something at least...
